Adult sufferers find acne is hard to face

Age lines and acne? This wasn't supposed to happen.

Acne, normally the bane of teenagers, was flaring up on Kim Noble's 50-year-old face, causing the Atlanta businesswoman no small degree of frustration.

"I started when I was a teenager with acne problems, and as I got older, it got worse," she says.

"I was told it was due to stress and hormones. I've tried everything that was out there, from (rubbing) alcohol to injections to Accutane to Proactiv," says Noble, who has been seeing a dermatologist for years but still has flare-ups.

She's not alone. Dr. Jodi Ganz, an Atlanta dermatologist, estimates half her patients are adults with mild to severe acne breakouts.

"There are a ton of people with adult acne. For women, flare-ups usually occur the week before their periods; that's what we call hormonally linked acne.

Test Match Special

The likes of Robin Smith, Ramprakash, Hick, Caddick etc, all dropped when they were the best players around is the real issue. It's created a trend.

Example..If, Ramprakash (who's a proven run getter) scores 15, the media labels him as 'past it'. If a young Bopara makes 14, he's 'yet to establish his true potential'

Cricket is a statistical game. Nobody cares about comments post match, its ALL about scores. In this situation the guy who made 15 is better than 14 statistically.

The selectors seem to think if a player is young and promising, he's a instant 'Tendulkar'. Little it seems do they know Tendulkar was better than the current crop of indian players which elevated him into the side. We can't play players based on promises. The side should be picked on the best players around, like the successful sides seem always to do.

Taser Fires Back at U.N. Anti-Torture Committee: Analysis

The guy in the "Don't Tase me Bro" video is not. Why? There were 4 officers, and one even had a good starting point for a come along out of the escort position that would have ended the situation without taser use. What happened? The poorly trained officers reached for a taser. Every officer in our class had nothing good to say about that incident. Officers need to become better in using tools that lower on the continuum of force, including come alongs and joint locks. Unfortunately, that takes work, and many officers are lazy...just like the rest of society. The UN is a pile of crap. 53. RE: Taser Fires Back at U.N. Anti-Torture Committee: Analysis It is not the responsibility of the police to "calm you down." Here's a very, VERY simple tip to not getting tasered. Don't do stupid s%$#. When you get a ticket, go to court.

Clinton: Hillary has helped New Orleans

I am pretty sure that Hillary had every intention to run for president when she decided to "help" New Orleans after "the event" on August 29 2005. Did she do it and ask for nothing in return or did she do it in anticipation of getting the louisiana votes in '08. Let your actions speak for itself. If you have to tell people what you did for the city Post-Katrina, then most likely you were not doing much at all. But, if her actions back then were so great, then we would not need to be reminded to vote for her in the upcoming primary and election.

Small Plates offers eclectic choice of nibbles

When I was in college in a small Midwestern town, I had a friend, now a chef, who cohosted frequent dinner parties with his roommate. We would pile into their sparsely decorated, wood-floor apartment, and they would serve our ragtag bunch bowls of bicolor soup with drizzles on top and carefully constructed towers of ingredients that often, but not always, tasted good together. Handwritten menus offered choices to circle with the Sharpie making its way around the table, and the wine always flowed.

I hadn't thought of those gatherings in years, until I ate at Small Plates in Harvard Square. Then I remembered the bare-bones romance of them, the sense of experimentation and possibility, and the well-intentioned stumbles, born of ambition. A meal at Small Plates is reminiscent of a dinner party in the university-town apartment of someone who is cooking to please you.

YottaMark's HarvestMark(TM) Delivers Support for the Produce ...

Leaders from PMA, CPMA and United Fresh along with representatives from more than 30 companies from a broad cross section of the produce supply chain met on January 9th to convene the Produce Traceability Initiative with the goal of developing an action plan to establish a consistent whole-chain traceability solution. The group reached agreement on several important elements. In addition to endorsing GS1 and beginning at case-level initially, the Committee encouraged companies to move toward item-level coding where feasible, as many produce products are now packaged for the consumer, thereby offering a viable option for providing traceability to the item level.

HarvestMark delivers case-level and item-level produce traceability information to wholesalers, distributors and retailers via a secure Internet portal.
