Newlyweds Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley took their many (how many? Pet got to the bottom of it) doggies of all shapes and sizes to the vet in LA yesterday afternoon before heading out at night to celebrate Josh's birthday. It looks like one of their pups is having some trouble getting out of the back of the car these days, poor baby. Katherine may be starting to talk about kids, but it looks like she and Josh definitely have their hands full of leashes for the time being. Hopefully all their pooches are having a good time getting accustomed to their unknown diggs since the couple finally moved into their newly finished home over the weekend. Hopefully she has a chance to sit back and enjoy it for a second before her next project — she just signed on to star in the romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth, alongside Gerard Butler.

While we strive for those results, that's not the reason why this project was taken on. Instead, it was to solve an issue that has been a burr in the britches of most who follow, coach and play high school sports on the Western Slope way beyond the 13 years I've been on the scene.

I, along with those folks, have wondered - loudly at times - why it seems athletes who live on this side of the Continental Divide get overlooked when it comes to earning all-state recognition?

For those of you who've read to this point I'm sure you agree.

I, like you, anxiously wait to see who from the Western Slope earns a spot on each of the All-Colorado prep sports teams produced by Rocky Preps and the Denver Post.

Likewise, after reading the results, I've come away scratching my head.

University of Alberta anatomy professor Dr. Gail Amort-Larson expects the exhibit will be a hit with Edmontonians.

"Medical students especially. At the university they only have the chance to see brain slices, nothing like this. This has the potential to be a transforming growth experience for anyone who sees it," she said.
